Keep moving forward. On this day of observance for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday which was this past Thursday, we are reminded of these three important words: keep moving forward. But what does that look like and mean in your own life?
I believe this quote has so much significance even today because even though so many before us fought for us, there is still so much work to be done. Even though there are so many things that try to knock us down, we have to continue to move forward. We have to continue to do the things that may not always be popular.
This post talks about 20 things you may not know about Dr. King, including the fact that he once tried to commit suicide at the age of 12. Can you imagine how much different our country and world would’ve been without his voice? It’s not always easy to keep moving forward, especially when you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. But this quote is a strong reminder of the fact that it’s just one step at a time. Do what you can, at your own pace and you will eventually get there.
In celebration of Dr. King, what will you commit to moving forward in your life?
