Motivational Monday: To Be A Successful Leader – Be A Positive Leader

Be a successful positive leader

It’s President’s Day today and we’re honoring George Washington’s birthday. In the midst of this cold weather we draw our thoughts to warmer days, just like Christine did when she received her yearbook from Beaches Resorts, reminding her of her time in Turks & Caicos.

And with that, I want to remind you to always keep the positive in mind. Yes it’s cold outside, yes you may not have all the money you need, yes you may not be feeling well. But instead of focusing on everything that’s wrong, or not perfect, focus on what you DO have. Tony Robbins says “where focus goes, energy flows,” meaning that you should spend time thinking of the good and you’ll subconsciously put energy towards more good. He also puts it in the context that if you want to achieve a certain thing, focus on that thing and your energy will go towards fulfilling it.

Can you imagine what kind of vision George Washington must have had? The leader he had to be? As mompreneurs, your followers may be smaller (in number and stature, lol) but your role as a leader isn’t any less important. You’re partially responsible for the vision you have for your family. Though circumstances may not be ideal, you are who your children look up to, to know that it will all be ok. You may think they don’t hear you grumble or complain, but I’ll be the first to testify that little pitchers have big ears. So take this day to reflect on the good, and reflect on the leader you want to be for your children. I leave you with this quote from Ralph Marston:

Being positive in a negative situation is not naive, it’s leadership.

Stay Blessed!

What part of being a leader or a mom do you think is most important?
