PART 2: Real Moms, Real Talk: Crystale Vail Spearman of E.Y.E. Imagery

We are back with more dish from Crystale Spearman of E.Y.E. Imagery. Click here if you missed Part 1 of our interview. Check out the rest of what this first-time mommy-to-be had to say below!

C: What are some things that you crave?

CRYSTALE: Oddly enough, I haven’t really had any big cravings.  But, there have been things that I could go an entire week eating.  Just last week, it was sandwiches.  The week before, it was corn.  In my first trimester,  I remember watermelon being one of them. 🙂  But, I can’t say that I’ve had any gnawing cravings where I’ve sent my husband out at 3am to get me something.  I wish I did.  I feel he deserves that experience! 🙂

C: Haha! Yeah you’re letting hubby off too easy. LOL But those 3am cravings are no joke so it’s probably a good thing you don’t have them. 😉

What about things that make you cringe?

CRYSTALE: Not too much.  But, I do have little fits now if something is too loud (i.e., the radio, the television, people talking to me, etc.).

C: Wow, it sounds like you’re having a pretty easy-going first pregnancy which is awesome!

What is your baby birthday prediction?

CRYSTALE: I think he’ll be born on Halloween for some reason.  My due date is Oct. 29th.

C: Well no one would ever forget his birthday, that’s for sure. I guess you need to get him a baby costume just in case. 😉

So what’s your favorite part about being pregnant?

CRYSTALE: I love that I no longer have to try to find an outfit that will camouflage my mid-section.  I feel like I can look cute in anything now that I don’t have to worry about that. 🙂

C: That is too funny! But yes, pregnancy definitely agrees with you because cute you are. 😉

What part can you do without?

CRYSTALE: I can definitely do without the fact that it takes me 5 minutes to get up off the sofa.

C: OMG, I hated that too! It’s like a whole production when you get out of bed in the morning and when you just want to get up, period. LOL

What’s one thing you think motherhood will change about you?

CRYSTALE: I think I’ll have to become a morning person. 🙂

C: I can’t wait to follow up with you in six months to see how it goes. 😉

Have you found that your husband is more protective of you now that you’re “with child”?

CRYSTALE: He’s definitely been more protective, but in strange ways though.  I think the protection is more about the baby than me. 🙂  He doesn’t want me drinking caffeine AT ALL.  He doesn’t want certain types of people touching my belly.  He hates when he thinks I’m carrying or moving items that are too heavy.  And he watches me take my vitamins like a hawk! LOL

C: Aww I always think that’s the cutest when the dads are so protective like that (i.e. when other people’s husbands are acting like that LOL).

What’s one thing you always said you would do as a mom?

CRYSTALE: I always said that I would be an active and involved mom.  I don’t want to be a mom who just sits the child down in front of the TV.  I want to make sure I am an active participant in my child’s life whether I’m reading to him, taking him to the park, playing outside with him, taking him to museums, or even just having conversations with him.  I want to try my best to not always take the easy way out when it comes to raising him.  But, don’t get me wrong… the TV WILL be used.  Momma gots to get the dishes done at some point! 🙂

C: Well I definitely agree with you on that. You are surely on your way to being an awesome mom! 😉 Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to share this exciting time with us. I wish you a happy and safe delivery and can’t wait to hear all about your take on motherhood in the coming months. 🙂
