You hear a lot about stepping out on faith, and as a woman of faith myself, I’ve said it without really taking into account what it might actually entail…until recently. You see ever since I moved to Canada from Sweden I assumed that everything America had to offer was also readily available here. I have since learned that there are a lot of differences, even in a company that’s present in both countries, they tailor their products and services to the demographic.
One of the things I felt was missing here in Canada was a blogger conference catered to the black community, females in particular. I couldn’t understand why we didn’t have one, yet the black population here in Toronto is comparable to that of many major US cities. I must’ve complained about it for 2 years, until this year it just became clear as day that I should organize one.

Part of my excitement at this realization had me slightly naive as to what this was actually going to require of me to pull off. However I’m grateful for that lack of knowledge because had I done all my research and looked at all the numbers, there’s no way I would have embarked on this journey. What I’ve come to realize is that once you take that leap, the net will appear. People have reached out to me and there is support coming in left, right, and center. Had I overanalyzed this goal, I would have been so intimidated that I would never have known of all the support that’s come way.
I want you to know that whatever your goal may be, you will get the help and support you need once you start your journey. But you have to start!
