W.W.M.D. (What Would Mommy Do)?

I came across this picture a while ago on one of the social media sites, and just laughed with a serious face (seriously…it’s a gift).  I immediately got on the defense and started getting together (in my head) a plan of action as to what I would do or say if anyone did x, y or z to any of my children.

We definitely live in a scary world where we can no longer send our children to play sports or to go on overnight trips with coaches for fear of them being abused.  I came across this article online yesterday about a mom who “Nearly Kills Coach Accused of Molesting“…now, before I even clicked on the link to read the story, my first thought was that: had it been me, the title would’ve changed slightly to “Mom Kills Coach Accused of Molesting”.

I’m going to continue saying some serious prayers of protection over all of our precious children because I don’t ever want the words “I was hoping the police made it to him/her before I did,” to have to come out of my mouth.

So moms, what would you do if you were ever in Lakeshia Richmond’s shoes?  Do you feel that her actions were justified or unjustified and why?

I’m a lover, not a fighter…until you mess with my child! “That’s what college ppl do” WHAT??!!?!?! I would have done the same if not worse, God forgive me. See the problem is that he’s not only affecting the children he molested; this will spill over into every area of their lives in that they may never trust ppl or may seek to harm others. He’s lucky they got to her before she did kill him. I would be under the jail!

I’m the same way, Drea in terms of being ok until someone messes with my children. It’s that motherly instinct thing I guess 🙂

OK…. I couldn’t even read the entire article because I felt my blood pressure rise (shaking my head). Lord help us all.
To be perfectly honest, I would have reacted the same way but first, I probably would have screamed, cursed the devil out, then called the police (while my daughter’s father would be enroute to the said person’s home), and then I would have joined him in the beating. If we’re being honest here.

Lord, please protect our children at all times!!! I believe that my family NOR anyone else’s will EVER have to think about this for any reason.

Thank you, Christine. Nobody likes to think about negative situations or scenarios like this, but it’s important to have a plan.

Thanks Rani. Yeah, it’s always easy to write about the positive things going on. But this issue seems that it’s becoming more and more common and it’s NOT ok. I’m sure most or all of these parents out there who have children that have been abused, never thought it could/would happen to their children. It’s definitely scary to think about but even more necessary to be even more conscience about who we allow our children to spend time with (without either parent).

Oh thank goodness that our prayer group learned years ago to always pray for our children…in fact the moment one knows they are in existence (in the womb). The prayers continue (especially for His protection from horrible things like this that take away our precious ones’ innocence) until God calls you Home so a mother’s job is never done. I cover all our children, young, old and yet to be born with the Blood of Jesus and no weapon formed against them shall ever prosper, in Jesus name! (Jesus’ name is the “safest” way I know to show my “50 shades of crazy” LOL)

Lol Absolutely Mary!! Prayer is so very important especially for our children, so thank you! I know for a fact that so many people are blessed (whether they know it or not) because of other people praying for them.

This is so sad on all accounts. Yesterday I heard about the young college hopeful who was given three years in prison for kicking and hitting his girlfriend in the lobby of her apartment. Of course he was remorseful afterwards and had plenty of supporters (including said girlfriend) asking the judge for leniency, as they claimed he is normally a great kid.

I have to admit that I didn’t feel very sorry for him while I watched him crumple to the floor. Having a little girl myself, it would have devastated me if I had to watch a video of her being abused and kicked by someone who claimed he loved her. I know I have a long way to go in my walk with God because I can say with all honesty that I have NO IDEA how I would act.
