I’m an 80’s baby. And chances are, if you grew up in the late 80’s and early 90’s then you are more than familiar with Duck Tales. In fact, I know for sure that if you were a true fan, that you started singing the theme song even before you clicked on this link. So let me help you out.
But don’t blame me for the fact that you’ll be singing the song all day, week, etc. It’s catchy! Here is the original Duck Tales theme song we grew to know and love.
Duck Tales is back!
Well, here is another cool thing we got to experience at the D32 Expo. It was a sneak peek into the highly anticipated return of Duck Tales. That’s right, it is officially coming back to Disney on Saturday August 12th on Disney XD!
Introducing the next generation
One of the things I’m most excited is that I get to introduce my kids to one of my favorite childhood memories: watching Duck Tales. I literally was my daughter’s age (7) when it first premiered in 1987. Back then, we could only watch cartoons on Saturday mornings.
Our kids have no idea how good they have it! LOL They can watch their favorite shows at the click of a button. I’m pretty sure they will add this one to their list of faves.
What to expect with the new Duck Tales
I wasn’t sure what to expect so many years later. But I am thrilled that the creators have decided to make it look and feel as authentic as the original cartoon. From the look and sound of it, this is sure to take you on a trip down memory lane.
Lucky for us, we got to get a sneak peek of the first half of the premiere show. It.was.good. Like my favorite kind of candy good. Like getting a parking space up close to the entrance of the store good.
It was funny and it was entertaining all at the same time. I love that they were still making it fresh and new, but keep a lot of qualities we loved.
I’ll be giving you more of the inside scoop a little later as we got to interview the Executive Producer, Matt Youngberg and Co-Producer/Story Editor, Francisco Angones after we watched the episode. Stay tuned. Here is the group photo we took with them after we all plunged into the money bin.
About the cast & creative team
The team of this Disney XD’s animated comedy-adventure series made some “Tales” of their own at the D23 Expo 2017 (along with the rest of us).
Stars Ben Schwartz (Dewey Duck), Kate Micucci (Webby Vanderquack), Beck Bennett (Launchpad McQuack), and Toks Olagundoye (Mrs. Beakley) dove into Scrooge McDuck’s legendary Money Bin and participated in a panel with executive producer Matt Youngberg, co-producer/story editor Francisco Angones and art director Sean Jimenez.
Mark your calendars!
Duck Tales will premiere in a one-hour television movie to be presented for 24 consecutive hours on Saturday August 12th (beginning at midnight, EDT/PDT) on Disney XD. The series will then debut with two new episodes Saturday beginning on September 23rd (7:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 10:30 p.m., EDT/PDT).
Here is a first glimpse at the all new Duck Tales:
Jumping in the MONEY BIN!
Ok so I was hoping I would’ve gotten a chance to do my jump over because…well…not looking. LOL I promise I misunderstood the directions. So this is why my Disney bounding Snow White self is looking at the pool of coins and not the camera. But at least I looked kinda cute doing it 🙂
Disclosure: This trip to the Disneyland and D23 Expo was sponsored by Walt Disney World. As always, the thoughts and opinions are my own. For more information about #D23Expo click here.
